After the destruction of the old city of Arralon by the evil Archmage Kwakrufli, the good Archmage Khelben Blackstaff helped the citizens to rebuilt their town in just two days by casting a powerfull spell.
After the work was done he summoned all people of New Arralon and spoke: ‘Alas I have to go now to the planes, as my work is done here. You now have to live allone and grow without my help. Only those, studying the lores of the arcan may gain help from me in the future, but be warned each mage will be tested first in knowledge about magic and in battle- strength before he is able to meet me between the stars in the astral. As a last hint, one who wants to visit me has to know the name of my true love, or all will be in vain.’
With this words the Archmage bowed to the duke of Arralon for the last time, casted a powerfull spell and vanished before the very eyes of thousands of citizens…
